DETAIL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION WORKS FOR THE REALIZATION OF THE MALCONTENTA TRAFFIC NODE

The Malcontenta traffic node plays a strategic role in the port and industrial activities of the City of Venice and in its road network. It completes roadway access to the existing terminals (Transped and Grandi Molini), to the Petrolchimico industrial area, and to the new terminal devoted to the Autostrade del Mare motorways at Fusina. Not least in importance, its construction will permit the separation of heavy traffic from urban traffic, thereby improving road conditions in the suburban area of Malcontenta. The project calls for the reclamation of the sites, with the construction of an overpass over Via Malcontenta which will serve the local traffic of Malcontenta, making it possible to avoid the roads devoted to commercial traffic; the construction of a pedestrian/ bike path along Via Malcontenta (SP24); two pairs of roundabouts (“Rotatoria della chimica” and “Rotatoria dell’elettronica”) linked to the existing road network, and a third roundabout between Via Malcontenta and the road leading to the parking lot.
