The project for the traffic artery known as “Terraglio Est” extends through the municipalities of Treviso and of Casier e Casale sul Sile. Its main purpose is to complete the existing road network to the east of the Terraglio highway, providing a second option for traffic circulation in the area, in alternative to the congested section of the state highway. The new road was designed both to provide relief to the high traffic flow along the Terraglio, a major state road between Treviso, Preganziol, Mogliano Veneto and Mestre, but also along the SP (provincial road) 107 near Casier, which presently suffers from an excess of traffic, and which, together with the provincial roads SP 104 and SP 63, forms the main road network in the area. The entire road network has become inadequate due the extensive cross traffic through built-up areas, causing both safety problems and sound and air pollution, thereby damaging the quality of life of the local inhabitants. The construction of the new bypass road will thus make it possible to reorganize and rationalize existing local traffic links, offering new prospects for the future.
